On Wednesday 28 September 2016, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Tshewang Chopel Dorji, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Dr Martin Parkinson PSM.

In the evening, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for the Australian British Infrastructure Investment Catalyst Program.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General met with students from Guildford Grammar School, WA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
