On Thursday 4 August 2016, at Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Director and Founder, Ms Helena Rocha, visited the Australian-funded Pipa Social project.

Afterwards, in Morro da Urca, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove visited Sugar Loaf Mountain.

In the evening, at the Oceanico Convention Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr Thomas Bach, attended a dinner with visiting Heads of State and Heads of Government.
