On Tuesday 2 August 2016, at Galeao Air Base, Rio de Janeiro, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed to the Federative Republic of Brazil by Australian Ambassador to Brazil, His Excellency Mr John Richardson, and Chef de Mission of the Australian Olympic Team, Ms Kitty Chiller.
