On Thursday 14 July 2016, at the Champs Elysées, Paris, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the French Republic, His Excellency Mr Franҫois Hollande, led Australia’s representation at the Bastille Day (French National Day) parade, at which Australia was selected to be the ‘Country of Honour’.

In the evening, at the Australian Ambassador’s residence, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Australian Ambassador to France, His Excellency Mr Stephen Brady AO CVO and Mr Peter Stephens, attended a reception for Bastille Day.
