Australian Council for Educational Leaders 2015 National Conference; Lunch with the Prime Minister; Federal Executive Council; Ministerial Swearing-In Ceremony; China musical performance

On Wednesday 30 September 2015, at the Hilton Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Dr Jim Watterson and the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Aasha Murthy, attended the Australian Council for Educational Leaders 2015 National Conference, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received for lunch, the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Later, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, and signed Instruments of Appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective new offices.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Oaths of Office and Executive Councillor to the newly appointed Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries: the Honourable Sussan Ley MP, Minister for Health, Minister for Aged Care and Minister for Sport; the Honourable Josh Frydenberg MP, Minister for Resources, Energy and Northern Australia; the Honourable Alan Tudge MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Social Services; and the Honourable Ken Wyatt AM MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Health.

In the evening, at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Ma Zhaoxu and Madame Yu Xiaoming, attended a traditional Chinese musical performance.
