Kranji War Memorial; Sembawang Air Force Base; Singapore Zoo; Lunch with Singapore Minister for Defence; Meeting with the Prime Minister of Singapore; Servcorp Opening; Australian Alumni Singapore Reception
On Tuesday 22 September 2015, at Kranji Cemetery, Singapore, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove lay a wreath at the Kranji War Memorial, honouring the men and women who died during World War II.
Afterwards, at Sembawang Air Base, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Singapore Chief of Air Force, Major General Hoo Cher Mou, visited 126 Squadron and undertook a viewing of Singapore by helicopter.
Later, at the Singapore Zoo, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mandai Safari Parks Holdings, Mr S Dhanabalan and Acting Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Zoo, Dr Cheng Wen Haur, viewed the Koala Exhibit and met with Australian school children from Avondale Grammar School.
Then, at the Marina Bay Sands Resort, the Governor-General, as guest of the Singapore Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, attended a lunch.
Afterwards, at the Istana, the Governor-General met with the Prime Minister, the Honourable Lee Hsien Loong.
Later, at the CapitaGreen Building, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Operating Officer, Servcorp, Mr Marcus Moufarrige, opened Servcorp’s newest serviced and virtual office space.
In the evening, at the Australian High Commission, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Australian High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Mr Philip Green and the President, Australian Alumni Singapore, Mr Christopher Cheah, attended an alumni ‘homecoming’ reception for Singaporean graduates of Australian universities.
