On Monday 21 September 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Afterwards, the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, and signed Instruments of Appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to their respective new offices.

In the afternoon, following the departure from Australia of the Governor-General, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AO.

In the evening, at the Istana, Singapore, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the President of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam, attended a ceremonial welcome.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with President Tan, and Lady Cosgrove attended a tea ceremony with Mrs Tan.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a state banquet hosted in their honour by President Tan and Mrs Tan.
