National Ecumenical Service; Visit to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet; Reception to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II becoming the longest reigning British Monarch

On Thursday 10 September 2015, at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Manuka, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, attended a National Ecumenical Service to celebrate the length of reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the High Commissioner for Republic of Botswana, His Excellency, Mr Molosiwa Selepeng.

Later, the Governor-General received the High Commissioner to the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Alan Sweetman and Mr Peter Sweetman.

Then, at Centra Plaza, Woden, the Governor-General, as guest of, Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Mr Michael Thawley, and Associate Secretary, Indigenous Affairs, Mr Andrew Tongue, met with Department staff.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II becoming the longest reigning British Monarch.
