Visit to Dubbo; Children’s Cancer Institute Diamond Ball

On Saturday 29 August 2015, in Dubbo, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director of Parks and Landcare Services, Mr Murray Wood viewed the Barden Park Regional Centre of Excellence for Athletics and met with coaches, young athletes and their families.

Afterwards, at the NSW Volunteers Rescue Association, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commissioner, Mr Mark Gibson, attended a morning tea with volunteers and community members.

Later, at the Western Plains Cultural Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director and Manager, Mr Andrew Glassop, viewed the Art Gallery and Museum.

In the evening, at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Executive Director, Children’s Cancer Institute, Professor Michelle Haber AM, attended the Children’s Cancer Institute Diamond Ball.

Earlier, at Government House, Canberra, the Bravery Institute of Australia held a Service of Remembrance and Wreath Laying Ceremony in the Bravery Garden.
