Ceremonial Welcome; Brunch; Meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia; Visit to the Australian International School; Visit to Monash University Malaysia; State Dinner

On Thursday 13 August 2015, at Perdana Square, Putrajaya, Malaysia, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, attended a ceremonial welcome.

Afterwards, at the Australian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of by the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, His Excellency Mr Rod Smith PSM, attended a brunch and met High Commission staff and families.

Later, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove met with Prime Minister Najib and his wife, Datin Sri Rosmah Binti Mansor, in recognition of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australian and Malaysia.

Then, in Seri Kembangan, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Dr Deborah Priest, visited the Australian International School Malaysia and met staff and students.

Afterwards, in Bandar Sunway, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor Helen Bartlett, visited Monash University Malaysia, were briefed by academic staff and met Australian and Malaysian students.

In the evening, at Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a State Dinner hosted in their honour by Prime Minister Najib and Mrs Rosmah.
