Credentials ceremonies; Prime Minister’s 2015 Magna Carta Lecture
On Wednesday 24 June 2015, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received from His Excellency Mr Yogesh Punja, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Fiji. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Deemant Lodhia (First Secretary) and Mr Jonetani Tagivetaua (Second Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Adi Melika Punja.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Archbishop The Most Reverend Adolfo Tito Yllana, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of The Holy See. The Ambassador was accompanied by Monsignor John John Kallarackal (Counsellor).
Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Kuong Koy, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Sam Ang Pho (First Secretary (Political)) and Mr Bunthan Chhum (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove also received Mrs Phalla Seng.
Then, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Hinauri Petana, Letters of Commission accrediting her as the High Commissioner for the Independent State of Samoa. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Brian Kaio (Counsellor/Deputy Head of Mission).
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a lunch in honour of newly accredited Heads of Mission. Guests included: Ms Jan Adams PSM; Mr Chris Cannan; Mr Brian Kaio; Monsignor John John Kallarackal; His Excellency Mr Kuong Koy and Mrs Phalla Seng; Mr Deemant Lodhia; Her Excellency Ms Hinauri Petana; Mr Sam Ang Pho; His Excellency Mr Yogesh Punja and Mrs Melika Punja; His Excellency Mr Pedro Raul Villagra Delgado; and His Excellency Archbishop The Most Reverend Adolfo Yllana.
In the evening, at Parliament House, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Mrs Menna Rawlings CMG, attended the Prime Minister’s 2015 Magna Carta Lecture.
