Governor-General visits Utopia Homelands Region

In the Utopia Homelands Region, the Governor-General, as guest of the Principal, Ms Julie Permezel, visited Arlparra High School and met with staff and students.

Later, at the Barkly Shire Council Service Centre, Arlparra, the Governor-General, as guest of the Chair of the Urapuntja Council, Mr Dennis Kunoth, met with women Elders and attended a community reception.

Then, at the Soapy Bore Primary School, the Governor-General, as guest of the Head Teacher, Mr Allan Webster, listened to the students perform their school song before meeting with the community for afternoon tea.

Afterwards, at the Contact Incorporated site, Soapy Bore, the Governor-General, as guest of the CEO, Ms Sue Kingwill, met with children and their families.

Later, at the Urapuntja Health Centre, the Governor-General, as guest of the Clinic Manager, Ms Linda Keating, met with staff and viewed the facilities.
