Lunch for the Council of the Order of Australia; Chief of Defence Force dinner

On Wednesday 14 August 2013, in Balmain, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE visited the Honourable Tom Uren AC.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Mr Bryce, hosted a lunch for the Council of the Order of Australia. Guests included: Mr Philip Bacon AM; Ms Fiona Birkett MVO; Dr Lyndsay Connors AM; Mr Charles Curwen CVO OBE; Mr Brian Davies LVO; Ms Teresa Hart; Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston AC AFC (Ret’d); Professor Andrea Hull AO; General David Hurley AC DSC; Mr Les Jones; Mr Jeremy Lasek; Ms Renee Leon; Ms Naomi Milgrom AO; Mr Peter Rush; Professor John Shine AO; Judge Rauf Soulio; Mr Ross Sue See MVO; and Mr Malcom Wauchope.

Later, the Governor-General received a farewell call from the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr Chen Yuming.

Then, the Governor-General received a farewell call from the High Commissioner for Malaysia, His Excellency Mr Salman Bin L Ahmad.

In the evening, at Bridges House, Duntroon, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief of the Defence Force, General David Hurley AC DSC, attended a dinner with senior Defence leaders.
