Visit to Townsville

On Friday 26 July 2013, at the Salt Cellar Restaurant, Townsville, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guest of the Chair of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, Ms Jennifer Bott AO and Artistic Director Mr Piers Lane AO, attended a lunch for the AFCM’s Chairman’s Circle

Afterwards, at the Australian Institute of Tropical Health Medicine, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Vice-Chancellor and President of James Cook University, Professor Sandra Harding and Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Ian Wronski, visited the Heart and Research Laboratory and met with medical researchers.

In the evening, at Townsville Civic Theatre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of Ms Bott, attended the opening night of the 2013 Australian Festival of Chamber Music, titled 'A Masked Ball.'
