Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia; Visit by secondary school students; Reception for Mr Peter Basset; Book launch; Reception for World MS Day

On Wednesday 29 May 2013, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO departed Australia to lead the 7th European Australian Business Council Mission to Europe.

As a result of the Governor-General’s departure, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Afterwards, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator hosted a visit by School Captains and Vice-Captains from 32 government secondary schools.

Later, the Administrator hosted a reception to launch a set of recordings by Mr Peter Basset on Richard Wagner’s musical masterpiece “Der Ring des Nibelungen”.

Then, at the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation, Paddington, the Administrator launched Ms Ondine Sherman book “The Miracle of Love”, a mother’s story of grief, hope and acceptance.

Afterwards, at Kirribilli House, the Administrator, as Patron of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of New South Wales, attended a reception to celebrate World MS Day and the culmination of the “Kiss Goodbye to MS” Campaign.
