Federal Executive Council; Opening of Mudgee Town Hall and Library; Investiture; St. Mary’s Annual Parish Dinner; Meeting with Administrator of the UN Development Programme; Business reception
On Thursday 11 April 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.
Afterwards, in Mudgee, the Administrator officially opened the new Mudgee Town Hall and Library.
Later, at St Matthew’s Catholic School, the Administrator invested Mrs Mary Lovett AM with the insignia of the Member of the Order of Australia.
In the evening, at the Mudgee Bowling Club, the Administrator delivered an address at the St Mary’s Annual Parish Youth Dinner.
Earlier, at the Plaza Hotel, New York, United States of America, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO hosted a working lunch for the Administrator of the UN Development Programme, Ms Helen Clark.
Afterwards, at Westchester Airport, New York, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, were farewelled by the Australian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, His Excellency Mr Gary Quinlan, and Defence Attaché, Group Captain Brian Walsh.
Later, at Oakland Airport, California, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce were welcomed by Australian Consul-General, Mr Nigel Warren.
Then, at the Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco, the Governor-General, as guest of the Australian Consul-General, attended a business reception.
