Swearing-in ceremony for Supreme Court Judge; Morning tea for home respite program participants; Loreto Normanhurst School; NSW Police State Crime Command Excellence in Policing Awards
On Monday 8 April 2013, at the Banco Court, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, attended a swearing-in ceremony for Mr Francois Kunc SC as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Afterwards, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator hosted a morning tea for participants of a home respite program for the intellectually handicapped.
Later, at Loreto Normanhurst School, Normanhurst, the Administrator officially opened the Gonzaga Barry Centre.
In the evening, at the Rotary Club of Holroyd, Merrylands, the Administrator attended a presentation night for the New South Wales Police State Crime Command Excellence in Policing Awards.
Earlier, at Hanover Square, New York, the United States of America, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Deputy Commissioner for New York City, Mr Bradford Billet CEM OBE and the Chair of Queen Elizabeth II Garden, Mr Victor Stewart, visited the Queen Elizabeth II September 11 Garden, where the Governor-General officially unveiled the Australian Coat of Arms Flagstone and gave an address.
Afterwards, at the Australian Consulate-General, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Consul-General, Mr Phillip Scanlan AM and the Australian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, His Excellency Mr Gary Quinlan, met with Consulate and Mission staff.
Later, at the Australian residence, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Australian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, attended a reception to present Australia’s candidate for the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Professor Megan Davis, where the Governor-General gave an address.
