RSL ANZAC Art Awards; Crown Autumn Ladies Lunch; Concert at Margaretta College; Wreath laying ceremony; Lunch with women leaders; Tree planting at High Commission; Visit to Rideau High School; Reception for Global Pluralism

On Friday 5 April 2013, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, hosted the RSL ANZAC Art Awards.

Afterwards, at the Sydney Opera House, the Administrator attended the inaugural Crown Autumn Ladies Lunch.

Later, at Margaretta Cottage, Glebe, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas, as guests of Artistic Director, Dr Edwin David McIntosh AM, attended a concert by Australian pianist Ms Penelope Thwaites AM.

Earlier, at the National War Memorial, Ottawa, Canada, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and met with veterans.

Afterwards, at the Chambers of the Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Canada, the Governor-General met with the Chief Justice of Canada, the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin PC.

Later, at the Official Residence of the Australian High Commissioner, the Governor-General, as guest of the High Commissioner to Canada, Her Excellency Ms Louise Hand PSM, attended a lunch with women leaders.

Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce planted a tree within the grounds of the High Commission and met with staff.

Afterwards, at Rideau High School, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Principal, Mr Geordie Walker, met with staff and students to discuss diversity, multiculturalism and mentoring programs.

In the evening, at the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, attended a reception as guests of the Secretary General of the Global Centre for Pluralism, Mr John McNee.

Earlier, at the Museum of Civilisations, Mr Bryce viewed the museum’s exhibitions and attended a lunch.
