On Tuesday 26 February 2013, at the Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as Patron, officially opened The Royal United Services Institute of New South Wales International Defence and Security Dialogue.

Afterwards, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, His Excellency Mr Enrique Viguera.

Earlier, at the Korean War Memorial, Seoul, Republic of Korea, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Director of the War Memorial, Lieutenant General Sun Young-jae (Retired), attended a ceremony in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War, at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.

Afterwards, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for the Australian and Korean business community.

Later, at EWHA Women’s University, the Governor-General, as guest of the President of the University, Dr Kim Sun-Uk, attended a roundtable discussion with prominent women.

In the evening, at the Blue House, the Governor-General met with the President of the Republic of Korea, Madame Park Geun-hye.

Earlier, at Jongno-gu, Mr Bryce, as guest of the Director, Ms Yoon Suk, visited Changduk Palace.

Earlier, at Darwin International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency Anote Tong MP, by Commander Ben Favelle ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
