On Saturday 10 November 2012, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a lunch in honour of Their Royal Highnesses to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Later, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Mr Bryce hosted an afternoon tea for family members of Australian Defence Force servicemen and women in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses. The afternoon tea was also attended by the Prime Minister, the Honourable Julia Gillard MP and the Leader of the Opposition, the Honourable Tony Abbott MP.
In the afternoon, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, the Governor-General was represented at the departure of the Their Royal Highnesses from Australia by the Official Secretary, Mr Stephen Brady CVO.
