Cabramatta Public School; Benevolent Society; Salvation Army; Cerebral Palsy Alliance; Kidney Health Australia

On Thursday 18 October 2012, at Cabramatta Public School, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Principal, Mr John Rice, attended the school’s community day, at which the Governor-General gave an address and met with students and families.

Afterwards, at the Benevolent Society, Liverpool, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of the Benevolent Society, Ms Anne Hollands, met with staff and clients.

Later, at the Salvation Army’s Café Horizons, Cabramatta, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the General Manager of Youthlink, Mr John Drew, met with participants of the Follow-on Youth Recovery Support Team and Café Horizons programs.

Then, at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Centre, Prairewood, the Governor-General as Patron of Carers Week, and as guest of the President of Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Ms Marelle Thornton AM, met with carers and families.

Afterwards, at Westmead Hospital, the Governor-General as Patron-in-Chief of Kidney Health Australia, met with patients in the Renal Unit and later attended a ceremony to present Professor David Harris the 2012 Priscilla Kincaid-Smith Medal.
