Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Conference; Sydney Hospital Graduate Nurses’ Association; Brunei’s Australian Community; Ceremonial Welcome; Kampong Ayer Water Village; State Dinner
On Wednesday 3 October 2012, at the Novotel Manly Pacific Hotel, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as guest of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Co-Convenors, Dr Josey Anderson and Dr Michael Bowden, officially opened the 2012 Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Conference.
Afterwards, at Parliament House New South Wales, the Administrator, as guest of the President of the Sydney Hospital Graduate Nurses’ Association, Mrs Gaye Rand, attended the 50th Anniversary Reunion Lunch.
Later, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator received the High Commissioner-Designate to the Republic of Singapore, Mr Philip Green; and the Director of the New South Wales Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms Virginia Greville.
Then, the Administrator received the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, His Excellency Mr Marcel Stutz and Mrs Ester Stutz; and the Consul-General of the Swiss Confederation, Mr Markus Meli.
Earlier, at Edinburgh Palace, Brunei, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a morning tea for the Australian community and staff of the Australian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam.
Afterwards, at the Istana Nurul Iman, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a ceremonial welcome hosted by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam.
Later, at the Empire Hotel, the Governor-General attended a roundtable discussion with representatives of Bruneian Women’s Associations.
Then, as guests of the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Pehin Yahya, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the Kampong Ayer water village and met Chief of the Tamoi Tengah village, Pengarah Haji Mokti Bin Mohd Salleh
In the evening, at the Istana Nurul Iman, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Sultan, attended a State Dinner hosted in their honour.
Earlier, at State Mufti’s Office, Mr Bryce viewed the Sultan’s personal collection of Islamic art.
