International Congress of Dietetics; Battle for Australia; Vienna Boys Choir; Nizwa Fort; Worley Parsons; Reception
On Wednesday 5 September 2012, at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as guest of the Chair of the International Congress of Dietetics 2012, Ms Claire Hewat, opened the 16th International Congress of Dietetics.
Afterwards, at the Cenotaph, Sydney, the Administrator, as Patron and Guest of Honour, and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, as guests of the Chair of the Battle for Australia Commemoration New South Wales Council, Lieutenant Colonel Brian Nebenzahl OAM RFD, attended the Annual Commemorative Service for the Battle for Australia.
Later, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas received the High Commissioner for the Republic of India, His Excellency Mr Biren Nanda.
Then, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas hosted a reception for the Vienna Boys’ Choir.
Afterwards, at Nizwa, Oman, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Minister of Honour, His Excellency Mr Ahmed bin Hamad al Mehrzi, visited the Nizwa Fort.
In the afternoon, at Worley Parsons Muscat Offices, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with staff and received a briefing of Worley Parsons’ operations in Oman.
Then, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Muscat, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception for the Australian community in Oman and Omanis with Australian links.
