Ramp Ceremony; Omani Welcome Ceremony; Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque; Dinner hosted by the Sultan of Oman

On Tuesday 4 September 2012, at Al Minhad Air Base, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Commander-in-Chief, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of Commander Joint Task Force 633, Major General Stuart Smith AM, attended the Memorial Service and Ramp Ceremony for Australian soldiers recently killed in Afghanistan, Lance Corporal Mervan McDonald, Lance Corporal Stjepan Milosevic, Private Nathanael Galagher, Sapper James Martin and Private Robert Poate.

Afterwards, at Muscat International Airport, Oman, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, attended a welcome ceremony, hosted by the representative of His Majesty the Sultan, His Highness Sayyid Assad Tariq Al-Said, to mark the start of their official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

Later, at the Al Bustan Palace, the Governor-General received the Omani Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mr Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, as guest of the President, Mr Habib Mohammed Al Riyami.

In the evening, at Bait Al Barakah Guest House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said.

Afterwards, as guests of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended an Official Dinner hosted in their honour.
