On Sunday 20 May 2012, at Greenhill Galleries, Adelaide, the Administrator, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR and Mrs Liz Scarce, as guests of the Director of Greenhill Gallery, Mr Russel Starke OAM, officially opened the exhibitions, 'King of Salt and Stone - The Alchemical Manuscripts' by Mr Johnny Darko and 'Arthearts' by Ms Victoria Edgar.
Afterwards, at the Hilton Hotel, the Administrator and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Chair of the Mary MacKillop Foundation, Mr Paul Caesar, attended the annual Mary MacKillop Foundation Fundraising High Tea at which the Administrator gave an address.
Earlier, at the Presidential Palace, Dili, Timor-Leste, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a Flag Raising Ceremony in recognition of the 10th anniversary of independence and the Presidential Inauguration.
Afterwards, at the Resistance Museum, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, the Honourable Xanana Gusmao and Mrs Kirsty Sword Gusmao.
Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the inauguration ceremony of the Resistance Museum, and on behalf of the Government and People of Australia, formally presented a gift of cultural significance to Timor-Leste in recognition of their 10th anniversary of independence.
In the afternoon, at the Presidential Palace, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the newly inaugurated President of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Taur Matan Ruak.
Afterwards, at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended lunch with members of the Australian community in Timor-Leste.
Later, at the Dili National Hospital, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce as guests of the Acting Director of the Psychological Recovery and Development in East Timor (PRADET), Mr Manuel dos Santos, met with patients and staff at the Fatin Hakmatek.
Then, at the Alola Foundation Headquarters, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Founder of the Alola Foundation, Ms Kirsty Sword Gusmao, met with foundation staff and students.
In the evening the Governor-General and Mr Bryce returned to Australia after their official visit to Timor-Leste.
