Credentials Ceremonies and Reception
On Thursday 25 November 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Mr M’Hamed Ezzine Chelaïfa, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Mohamed Lamine Lourimi (Counsellor) and Mr Nizar Hammedi (First Secretary). The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Leïla Chelaïfa.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Mrs Mirella Chauvin, Letters of Commission accrediting her as the High Commissioner for the Republic of Mauritius. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Bijayaduth Gokool (First Secretary), Mr Niraj Kumar Ramdin (Second Secretary) and Mr Yesdev Jeelal (Economic and Trade Adviser). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mr Daniel Chauvin.
Later, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Neda Maletic, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Dusan Vukasinovic (Counsellor).
In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the International Trustee of The Gideons International, Mr David Jarrott; National President, Mr Ivan Gow; National Executive Director, Mr Aaron Trevis; and photographer, Ms Renee Hughes, who presented the Governor-General with a Bible commemorating 14 million Bibles placed in Australia since 1956.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received a farewell call from the High Commissioner for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr Senaka C B Walgampaya PC.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception in honour of the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia, the High Commissioner for the Republic of Mauritius, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia.
