St Dominic's Catholic Primary School; Royal Children's Hospital; Gender, Leadership and Social Sustainability (GLASS) Research Institute; Council of British and Commonwealth Societies

On Monday 6 September 2010, in Camberwell, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Principal, Mr Anthony Levett, visited St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School and met with students and staff.

Afterwards, in Parkville, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Director of the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Mr Tony Beddison AO, visited the Royal Children’s Hospital and met with staff, patients and families.

In the afternoon, at Monash University, Caulfield Campus, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Director, Professor Margaret Alston OAM, visited the Gender, Leadership and Social Sustainability (GLASS) Research Institute.

Afterwards, at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne, the Governor-General received the Convenor, Victorian Women’s Trust, Ms Dur-e Dara OAM; and the Executive Director, Victorian Women’s Trust, Ms Mary Crooks.

Later, in South Yarra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Brett Hogan, attended a reception hosted by the Council of British and Commonwealth Societies. Organisations represented by the Council included: the Armorial and Heraldry Society of Australia; the Australia-Britain Society; the Australia Day Council; Australians for Constitutional Monarchy; the British Commonwealth Day Movement; the British Australian Community; the Cambrian Society; the Cornish Association of Victoria; Countess Mountbatten’s Own Legion of Frontiersmen; the English Speaking Union; the Royal Caledonian Society of Melbourne; the Royal Commonwealth Society; the Royal Over-Seas League; the Royal Society of St George; The Company of Armigers (Australian chapter); the Ulster Society; the Victoria Day Council; and the Victorian Scottish Union.
