On Wednesday 5 May 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received a farewell call from His Excellency Mr Jose Luis Balmaceda, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile.

Afterwards, at the Gallery of National Design, Canberra, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE opened the exhibition ???Connections Brazil and Australia'. In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, hosted a dinner.
