On Friday, 5 March 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received Rear Admiral Peter Briggs AO CSC RAN and Commodore Terry Roach AM RAN (Retired).

Afterwards, at the National Convention Centre, the Governor-General attended the United Nations Development Fund for Women Australia's Canberra International Women's Day Lunch. In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Association for the Wellbeing of Children in Healthcare, received the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Michelle Sloane; President, Ms Joanna Holt; and Ambassador and Immediate Past President, Professor David Bennett AO. In the evening, at Canberra Stadium, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron of the Brumbies, attended the Brumbies versus Lions Super 14 rugby union match.
