On Wednesday 25 November 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Earlier, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra, the Governor-General, as Patron, delivered an address at the 42nd Australian Association of Gerontology National Conference. In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Sweden, Mr Paul Stephens. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a reception for the finalists of Rhodes Australia-at-Large.
