On Tuesday 24 November 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the author of the book Looking Forward, Looking Back, Mr Christopher Jobson who was accompanied by Mrs Tracey Jobson and Mr Denny Neave.

Later, at Charles Sturt University, Barton, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Affinity Intercultural Foundation and Charles Sturt University. Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a Children's Christmas Party. Earlier, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, Mr Bryce laid the first stone for the National Servicemen's Association of Australia Memorial.
