On Tuesday 6 October 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from Her Excellency Mrs Eva Ponomarenkov?Ñ, Letters of Credence accrediting her as the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Michal Kovac (Deputy Head of Mission). The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mr Igor Ponomarenko.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Pero Stojanovski, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Dragan Petkovski (Counsellor). Later, the Governor-General received from Her Excellency Ms Ntsebe Idlett Kokome, Letters of Commission, accrediting her as the High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Lesotho. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Sixakeko Yengane (First Secretary). In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mr Bryce hosted an afternoon tea for members of the Girls' Brigade. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception in honour of Her Excellency Mrs Eva Ponomarenkov?Ñ, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic; His Excellency Mr Pero Stojanovski, Ambassador of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Her Excellency Ntsebe Idlett Kokome, High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Lesotho. Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at Brisbane International Airport at the departure from Australia by the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency the Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand PCNZM QSO, by Commander Geoffrey Fiedler ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
