On Wednesday 9 September 2009 in Deakin, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the refurbished facilities at The Royal Australian Mint.
Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Mr Ben Rimmer. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a dinner for government, community and business leaders to discuss strengthening leadership and community support for young children and their families.
