On Thursday 6 August 2009, in Rockhampton, Queensland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC opened the Australasian Institute of Judicial Administration (AIJA) Indigenous Courts Conference.

Afterwards, at Government House, Brisbane, the Governor-General received the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Honourable John Mickel MP. Later, at Government House, Brisbane, the Governor-General received the Leader of the Opposition, Mr John-Paul Langbroek MP. Then, at Government House, Brisbane, the Governor-General received Professor of Indigenous Policy at Griffith University, Professor Boni Robertson. In the evening, at the Novotel Hotel, Brisbane the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a reception to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Brisbane City Mission.
