On Monday 27 July 2009, at the Langham Hotel, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received former Governor-General of Australia, the Right Honourable Sir Ninian Stephen KG AK GCMG GCVO KBE QC and Lady Stephen.
Afterwards, at Bamboo House, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended lunch with former Prime Minister of Australia, the Right Honourable Malcolm Fraser AC and Mrs Tamie Fraser AO. Later, at the Langham Hotel, Melbourne, the Governor-General received a Judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, Justice Yvonne Mokgoro. In the evening, at the Potter Museum, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a reception at which the Governor-General officially launched The Lost Mother: a story of art and love, a book by Dr Anne Summers. Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Dr Jose Ramos-Horta, by Colonel Michael Miller ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
