On Thursday 21 May 2009, in Coober Pedy, South Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Child Care Director, Mrs Snezana Aleksic, visited the Umoona Child Care Facility.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Principal, Ms Sue Burtenshaw, met with students and teachers of the Coober Pedy Community School. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of Park Management and the traditional owners, visited ???The Breakaways' and received a cultural interpretation and environmental management briefing.
