On Thursday 19 March 2009, at Watters Gallery, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO attended a ceremony at which she opened the Dr John Plapp Exhibition.

The Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE departed Mauritius on an Official Visit to Namibia. In the afternoon, at the State House, Namibia, the Governor-General met with the President of Namibia, His Excellency Mr Hifikepunye Pohamba. Afterwards, in Katutura, Namibia, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened Bicycling Empowerment Network's (BEN's) Bike's ???King's Daughters?? bicycle workshop. Later, at the State Guest House, Namibia, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister of Namibia, The Right Honourable Nahas Angula. Then, the Governor-General received the Founding President of Namibia, His Excellency Dr Sam Nujoma. Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a State Dinner hosted by the President of Namibia, His Excellency Mr Hifikepunye Pohamba. Earlier, at the Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek, Namibia, Mr Bryce attended a meeting with the Namibia Cricket Association and UNICEF. Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Vanuatu, His Excellency Mr Kalkot Matas Kelekele, by Commander Theodore Wynberg ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
