On Friday 30 January 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Chief of the Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston AC AFC.

In the afternoon, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, received the Head of Architecture, University of Canberra, Professor Annabelle Pegrum. Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Group Captain Robert Lawson ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
