On Friday 5 December 2008, at HMAS CRESWELL, Jervis Bay, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended the Graduation Parade of New Entry Officers Course 39, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force, reviewed the Parade, presented the Royal Australian Naval College Prize and delivered the address.

In the evening, at The King's School, North Parramatta, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce as guests of the Headmaster, Dr Timothy Hawkes, attended the end of year Speech Day at which the Governor-General presented prizes and delivered an address.
