On Thursday 27 November 2008, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Lieutenant General Masud Uddin Chowdhury, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Mahbub Saleh (Counsellor), Mr Nazrul Islam (Counsellor), and Mr Mohammed Huq (Counsellor), High Commission of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Jasmin Masud.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Haji Adnan Bin Haji Mohamed Ja'afar, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the High Commissioner for Brunei Darussalam. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Ismail Hassan (First Secretary), Miss Hani Nadiah Sani (Second Secretary), and Mr Ayup Othman (Attache Education), High Commission of Brunei Darussalam. Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Vicencije Biuk, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Ljubinko Matesic (Minister), Mr Zeljko Ivankovic (Counsellor), and Ms Mirjana Piskulic (First Secretary), Embassy of the Republic of Croatia. The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Josipa Biuk. Then, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Mokhele Likate, Letters of Commission, accrediting him as the High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Lesotho. The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Mabataung Nthabiseng Likate.
