On Saturday 3 May 2008, in Tamworth, NSW, the Administrator, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, toured the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital Campus and remained for morning tea with staff.

Later, the Administrator visited the Tamworth RSL Sub-Branch Office where she delivered an address and unveiled a plaque commemorating its 90th anniversary. Afterwards, the Administrator toured the Tamworth Regional Botanic Gardens accompanied by the Head Horticulturalist, Mr Brian Sheedy. In the afternoon, the Administrator visited Calala Cottage, a Tamworth Historical Society Property. Later, at Bicentennial Park, the Administrator inspected the Man-O-War Gates, the WW2 Memorial and the Australian Light Horse Waler Memorial. Afterwards, the Administrator visited the Tamworth Visitor Information Centre where she viewed the ???Walk a Country Mile' exhibit of country music artist memorabilia and attended an afternoon tea with the centre's staff and volunteers. In the evening, the Administrator, as Guest of Honour, attended the RSL Tamworth Sub-Branch 90th Anniversary Ball where she delivered an address and presented a certificate from the National RSL President, Major General William Crews AO (retd), to the Tamworth Sub-Branch President, Mr Bob Chapman.
