On Friday 23 November 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received Mr Mike Silverstone CSC, former Commanding Officer of the Special Air Service Regiment.

Afterwards, at Manuka Oval ACT, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs??Marlena Jeffery attended the International Defence Cricket Challenge Grand Final. In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies hosted a reception at which the Governor-General, as Chief Scout of Scouts Australia, presented the Baden-Powell and The Queen's Scout Awards to ACT Scouts. In the evening, at The Playhouse, Canberra Theatre Centre, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery attended a performance of Dickens' Women by Miriam Margolyes.
