On Friday 9 November 2007, at Parliament House, Darwin, Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General administered the Oath of Allegiance and Office to the Nineteenth Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour Mr Thomas Pauling QC. Afterwards, Their Excellencies attended a Reception held in honour of the Administrator and Mrs Tessa Pauling hosted by the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, Mrs Clare Martin, MLA.

Later, at Government House, Darwin, Their Excellencies attended a luncheon hosted by the Administrator of the Northern Territory and Mrs Pauling.
