On Thursday 11 October 2007, at the RSL Twin Towns Conference Centre, Tweed Heads, New South Wales, the Administrator, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO officially opened the Australian Council of Stoma Associations 2007 Annual Conference.

Afterwards at Inverell, the Administrator officially opened the Community Memory Garden at Inverell Cemetery to mark Mental Health Week. Later at Gunnedah, the Administrator officially opened McAuley Hostel and Inala Dementia Unit at Gunnedah Nursing Home. In the Evening, at L'Aqua, Cockle Bay, the Administrator presented Benefactor Awards on behalf of The Children's Cancer Institute of Australia for Medical Research.
