On Wednesday 28 March 2007, at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the Business Leaders' Forum on Climate Change, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address.

Afterwards, at Government House Canberra, the Governor-General received the recipient of the 2006 Youth Achievement Award sponsored by the Returned and Services League, Denmark, WA, Miss Morgan Dines, accompanied by Mrs Jane Dines. Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery received the Minister Mentor in the Government of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Mr Lee Kuan Yew and Mrs Lee Kuan Yew, accompanied by the Deputy High Commissioner for the Republic of Singapore, Mr Cheong Ming Foong; the Principal Private Secretary to the Minister Mentor, Colonel Lee Seow Hiang and the Australian High Commissioner in the Republic of Singapore, Mr??Miles Kupa. In the evening, Their Excellencies hosted a dinner for delegates attending the Business Leaders' Forum on Climate Change.
