On Saturday 10 February 2007, the grounds of Government House, Canberra, were open to members of the public for the Canberra Symphony Orchestra 2007 Annual Prom Concert. Their Excellencies, the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the concert as guests of the Chair of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Mr Tony Hedley.

On Sunday 11 February 2007, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Finland, Her Excellency Ms Tarja Halonen, by Brigadier Bruce Cook, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
