On Saturday 20 January 2007 at Admiralty House, Sydney, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a morning tea for students attending the 10th Indigenous Australian Engineering Summer School, and afterwards hosted to luncheon the Patron of the Indigenous Australian Engineering Summer School, the Honourable Bob Hawke AC.

On Sunday 21 January 2007 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery received the Young Australian of the Year 2007 State Finalists and in the evening, hosted a dinner for the participants in the National Australia Day Council Dawn Ceremony at Mt Stromlo. On Monday 22 January 2007 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister, the Honourable John Howard MP. Earlier, at Mount Stromlo, ACT, the Governor-General and Mrs??Jeffery attended the National Australia Day Council Dawn Ceremony at which the Governor-General participated in a dialogue of reflection with the Young Australian of the Year 2007 State Finalists, prior to Australia Day celebrations.
