On Friday 11 December 2020, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of the Honourable Larry Anthony, Federal President, attended a ceremony and morning tea to officially unveil the Sir John McEwen Sculpture for the Federal National Party in the Senate Gardens, Old Parliament House.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of the Honourable Scott Morrison MP, Prime Minister, attended the opening of the National Federation Reform Council at Old Parliament House.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley as guests of Ms Monique van de Waterbeemd, Deputy Director, Emerging Threats and Technologies attended Joint Counter Improvised Threat Task Force's End of Mission Function at the Australian Defence Force Academy.

Then, the Governor-General received The Honourable George Brandis QC, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
