On Monday 15 March 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Government House, Australian Capital Territory to Armidale, New South Wales.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mrs Julianne Crompton, Principal, Drummond Memorial Public School, attended an Australian Citizenship Ceremony at the Armidale City Bowling Club.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mrs Julianne Crompton, Principal, met with students of Drummond Memorial Public School.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Councillor Ian Tiley, Mayor, Armidale Regional Council, attended a lunch with council and community representatives.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr James Harris, Chancellor, visited the Oorala Aboriginal Centre at the University of New England.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Chris Clark, Chief Executive Officer, New England Conservatorium of Music, attended a rehearsal of the New England Singers.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Bernie Shakeshaft, Founder, attended a dinner with BackTrack staff and participants.
