Canberra, Australian Capital Territory; East Sale, Clifton Creek, Swifts Creek, Omeo, Victoria

On Tuesday 23 March 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Government House, Australian Capital Territory, to RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria.

There, the Governor-General, as Reviewing Officer, and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Wing Commander Neil Foate, Parade Commander, attended 30 Squadron’s Queens Colour Consecration Parade at RAAF Base East Sale.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Group Captain Nigel Ward, Senior Australian Defence Officer, RAAF Base East Sale, met with Australian Defence Force members involved in Operation BUSHFIRE ASSIST, at the Headquarters of 30 Squadron.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Group Captain Nigel Ward, Senior Australian Defence Officer, RAAF Base East Sale, attended a lunch in celebration of 30 Squadron’s Queens Colour Consecration.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Clifton Creek, where as guests of Ms Sue Paul, Principal, they met with students, teachers and parents at Clifton Creek Primary School.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Swifts Creek, where, as Joint Patrons and guests of Mrs Kate Cummins, Group President, they met with members and friends of the Country Women’s Association High Country Branch.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Omeo.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a dinner with community representatives involved in bushfire and pandemic recovery.
